Featuring Historic Fiction/Mystery Author, Madalyn S. Kinsey

Don’t miss your opportunity to meet local author, Madalyn S. Kinsey! She will be signing and selling her books at the 67th Annual Christmas Gift & Hobby Show, on Saturday, November 12th, from 10:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M., at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, West Pavilion, booth #303.

Author of the Vanessa Mystery Series

Madalyn Kinsey was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, in an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She visited them frequently on the family farm near Fishers, Indiana, where ghost hunting, exploring abandoned houses and the nearby creek, searching for UFOs, sleeping in the woods, and other kinds of do-it-yourself fun took place.
Her cousins were never at a loss to cook up fun and adventure, much of it involving investigating the Civil War-era graveyard located only yards behind the family home that was rumored to be haunted.

Her historic fiction books in the Vanessa Mystery Series, consisting of The Ghost of Cheeney Creek, The Mystery of Gatewood Airport, and The Man Who Defied Gravity, are a fond memoir of those visits, as well as the pop culture of the 1960s during which they occurred.

When not writing, Madalyn practices law with an Indianapolis law firm.

Featuring Humorous Fiction Author, Cynthia Port

KT front cover 2014 with gold award

Cynthia will be signing and selling her books at the 66th Annual Christmas Gift & Hobby Show, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, West Pavilion, on Saturday, November 14th, from 10:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M., in the Local Authors’ Booth #303.

The Kibble Talk series hooks middle grade readers with its silly humor, but just under the surface are heartfelt messages about acceptance and not taking others for granted. Young readers come for the laughs and adventure, but stay for the experience of stepping into someone else’s shoes and seeing how they treat others when faced with a challenge.

Her first book, Kibble Talk, has been used as a read aloud in classrooms across the US, and recently won the Readers’ Favorite Gold Award for 4th to 6th grade books.

The second book in the Kibble Talk series, Dog Goner, has been equally well-received.

In 2016, Ms. Port will publish several new works, including book 3 in the Kibble Talk series and an historical fiction middle grade novel that takes place in the Australian Outback. Wombats, anyone?
