The venting allowed him to get a handle on his trials and tribulations in growing up with eight other siblings.

George spread his wings and embraced writing in all genres. As it stands, he has over one hundred and fifty articles published online for various websites.

He has written two books of unconventional poetry, countless short stories, and seven books of the popular Arcadis fantasy series.

Ghost of Cheeney Creek Cover

Madalyn will be signing and selling her books at the 66th Annual Christmas Gift & Hobby Show, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, West Pavilion, on Saturday, November 14th, 10:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M., in the Local Authors’ Booth #303.

The Ghost of Cheeney Creek
For eighth-grader Vanessa the easy-going life of summer vacation stretches before her in all its glory. Her visions of sleeping late every morning and watching as much television as possible evaporate quickly, though. Her mother has arranged for her to spend two weeks with her aunt, uncle, and cousins she barely knows on a farm! Making matters worse, the farm is haunted by a Civil War ghost reisiding in a cemetery only steps from the house. This is definitely not the plan she had in mind for her summer of 1967.

After settling in, however, new worlds open up as Vanessa gets to know her relatives and their different way of life. After initiating their “city slicker” cousin to life on the farm, Emma, Luke, Daniel and their friend Jim introduce her to adventures she never dreamed she’d encounter. When the kids share the legend of a Civil War era ghost who haunts the area, and they become deeply entangled with the mysteries of an old, abandoned house, their exploits set them on a perilous path-a path that their curiosity and family loyalty dictate that they must follow. As the kids rush headlong into deeper danger, they develop deeper friendships-ones that will help them emerge from their exploits in one piece. Tag along with Vanessa, Emma, Luke, Daniel, and Jim as they forge bonds that will endure beyond their unforgettable summer!

Madalyn Kinsey was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has lived and worked as a corporate attorney in Indianapolis, Chicago, and San Francisco. Searching for inspiration for her writing, she called upon fond memories of frequent childhood visits with cousins on the family farm near Fishers, Indiana, where abandoned buildings, a Civil War-era graveyard only steps from the house (rumored to be haunted by a Civil War soldier), a mysterious creek running through the property, and a nearby municipal airport, made her real-life visits fascinating and full of adventure.

Those memories have inspired the plots of her Vanessa Mysteries series, the first of which was The Ghost of Cheeney Creek, and its sequel, The Mystery of Gatewood Airport. In each book, her main character, 14-year old Vanessa, and her cousins and their friend, Jim, are swept into new and different adventures requiring courage and commitment to friendship and family.

When not writing, Madalyn practices corporate law with an Indianapolis law firm, and enjoys classic movies and TV, ghost hunting, and flying.
